Lessons At St. Charles Farm
At St. Charles Farm, our instructors are experienced and accomplished in their respective fields. Riding lessons can be given on your horse or one of our professionally trained horses.
1st time riders, and beginners welcome! We specialize in starting new riders off on the right path for whatever type of riding you want to learn.
You will find that St. Charles Farm is different from other training facilities in the area. We believe that students should not only understand how to ride, but also be taught the proper way to care for a horse.
All students are taught grooming techniques and how to tack up a horse properly. Our beginner lessons focus on safety around horses and basic steering. Once students have demonstrated success in the basics, they are allowed to take more advanced lessons in Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, or other disciplines.
All lessons are private, so our trainers concentrate only on you. We ask that you allow an hour for each lesson.
We offer introductory English riding lessons through all levels of Hunter/Jumper and Dressage competitions. Our show team successfully competes in the Northern Illinois Hunter/Jumper Association (NIHJA), Illinois Short Circuit (ISC), Place to Start (PTS), as well as A and B level shows.
Our Western riding lessons include Western Pleasure and Natural Horsemanship.
